One of the Mother City’s newest, most exciting museums is the giddying Museum of Illusions Cape Town. Here, visitors can enter a fascinating world of illusion where, to quote the museum,
“nothing is ever quite as it seems”.
Situated in Gardens, Cape Town, this quirky museum is designed to educate its visitors on fun, interactive experiences that ultimately (and playfully) inspire your wildest creativity to come alive.
The Museum of Illusions Cape Town, which features a wide range of optical illusions, interactive displays and visual tricks in the form of exhibits, is a great experience for all ages.
Let The Illusions Take You
With the Museum of Illusions, you can enjoy a one-of-a-kind edutainment experience as you throw yourself head-first into the wonderful, exciting world of illusions.
At the museum, guests can encounter more than 60 visual- and educationally-inspired exhibits. The museum offers holograms, optical illusions, immersive rooms and stereograms designed to tease and trick the mind and senses.
Generally speaking, the museum takes about 45-90 minutes to explore and offers wheel chair- and pram-access, although some exhibits are not accessible due to the nature of the structure.
