Enjoy Tranquil Stays at Our Harbour View Apartment
In this post, we’re highlighting our largest apartment: Harbour View and sharing all that guests can expect during their DK Villas stay!
We’ll also provide ideas on fun things to do in and around Hout Bay, just in case you are actually tempted to leave the apartment and explore.
1) Explore Hout Bay’s Cafes and Eateries
Hout Bay offers our guests a number of delightfully varied cafes, bakeries and eateries. Whether you like fish and chips by the ocean, coffee and pastries overlooking Chapman’s Peak or authentic Greek cuisine lovingly made by a local legend, there is all this and more to be found in Hout Bay.
For families, The Clay Cafe Hout Bay and The Cafe Collective are great options with a more relaxed, child-friendly vibe, while for date nights, Nostos, The Lookout and Quentin at Oakhurst are sublime.
For a quick cup of something hot and delicious, try spots like The Sentinel Cafe or The Deli Social.
2) Visit Hout Bay’s Iconic Bay Harbour Market

If you wish to soak up a bit of the local atmosphere or buy some authentic South African keepsakes, there are few spots better than Hout Bay’s popular The Bay Harbour Market.
This vibrant market brings awesome live entertainment on weekends (Friday - Sunday), fun midweek bingo nights, a vast variety of food and drinks and of course, some incredible local wares (everything from colourful, quality children’s clothing to beaded jewellery, posters, gifts and homeware items) together in a bustling indoor space.

Whether you visit for the vibe or the wares, Bay Harbour Market is a sensory overload in the best ways possible, alongside being one of Cape Town’s most popular markets.
3) Taste Some Authentic Italian Gelato
Literally across the road from our Harbour View apartment, you find the decadent, longstanding Hout Bay favourite, Ice Dream.
This small, family-run gelateria, which has been cheerfully scooping since 1993, is one of the best dessert spots in Hout Bay. Here, you can grab a hot drink or delicious, authentic cone or scoop of gelato in a cosy, bright pink space, where you feel instantly welcome and at ease.
And it doesn’t hurt that Cape Town’s oldest gelateria serves up their incredible gelato in a variety of tasty flavours, now, does it?
4) Go for a Scenic Drive
Whether you take a scenic mountainous drive to Llandudno, curl along the coastline to Cape Point or simply take a slow, peaceful drive along Chapman’s Peak Drive at sunset, Hout Bay offers plenty of wonderful roads, which lead to world-class attractions and local beaches.
You can also plan a picnic and enjoy it along Chappies, at Cape Point or even on the beaches in Hout Bay and surrounds.
For the wine lovers among us, why not take a drive to the Constantia Wine Valley and visit one of our wonderful, local wine farms?
Tour historic Groot Constantia, grab lunch at Constantia Glen or Beau Constantia or simply book a wine tasting at one of these or the other beautiful Constantia farms.
5) Stay In and Enjoy Harbour View Apartment
We don’t mean to brag but truthfully, this quietly stunning, altogether private three-bedroom Harbour View apartment, which is so conveniently situated in central Hout Bay, offers so much for our guests to enjoy.
Aside from all the luxury amenities and SMEG appliances we have kitted out this spacious self-catering apartment with, there are impressive harbour-, mountain- and ocean-views to be enjoyed; prime location from which to easily explore Hout Bay and its immediate surrounds; and, above all, a tranquil, luxurious space to spend quality time unwinding, all while enjoying the added peace of mind 24/7 security and safe, underground parking.
Sit back and enjoy some quality TV viewing, with a cup or glass of something delicious in hand. Have a family meal in the indoor patio area or curl up with a good book and admire the views from this beautiful apartment.
