While Gansbaai is famed for its shark cage diving, there is also surprisingly great shark cage diving to be enjoyed in Simon’s Town. One such shark cage diving business is family-run African Shark Eco-Charters, which was first established in 1996.
They are not only the leading shark cage diving operator in False Bay but perhaps more importantly, they have a “first do no harm” philosophy that permeates every aspect of their operations.
Trips only take place in suitable weather conditions (to ensure everyone’s safety) and because they offer small, immersive experiences, guests can really witness the sharks in their natural habitat and see them engage in normal wild interactions too.
Each trip can only take a maximum of 12 guests; this ensures a personal, intimate experiencel with these underwater giants.

While many of our little coastal towns and villages offer quaint harbours, two rather iconic, cheerful harbours to explore include Kalk Bay and Hout Bay Harbour.
